Sign In and Profile
VidRedi uses accounts, passwords, and roles to control who can sign in and what they can do. This page is for signing in, updating your own account, and signing out. Administrators manage users and roles in Users and Roles.
Users sign in with a username or email and a password. After sign-in, the session stays active for up to 30 days of inactivity.
If access is revoked or the account is disabled, that user is signed out and cannot continue.
On a new system the first account is admin with password admin12345. Change that password as soon as the system is reachable. See First Boot.
Failed sign-in limit
After 10 failed attempts from the same address within 15 minutes, sign-in is blocked for the rest of that window. Wait and try again, or sign in from another location if you are locked out.
Sign Out
Select the logout control in the header (door icon). That ends the current session and returns you to the sign-in page.
An administrator can also revoke all of a user’s sessions from Configuration → Users without changing the password.
Change Your Password and Profile
- Select your name in the header.
- Update username, email, full name, or password.
- Optionally turn Warn before stopping a channel on or off. It defaults to on. When it is on, Record, Eject, and Load ask for confirmation if that would interrupt the current item.
- Save.
Dashboard layout (compact or expanded) is also saved per user from the Dashboard itself.
If you cannot sign in, confirm the username or email and password, then wait out the failed-attempt window if there were many tries. An administrator can check whether the account is disabled or missing a role. See Users and Roles.
